Firesmarting Woodchips
Firesmarting Woodchips are obtained from chipping non-merchantable timber upon removal of 'forest fuel'. Such initiative involves replacing flammable coniferous trees with fire-resistant deciduous species e.g. aspen. This product thus mainly contains spruce and pine.
Dry Firesmarting Woodchips are sifted to reduce dust content, and seasoned to ≤ 14% humidity content.
Raw Firesmarting Woodchips only are available in Bulk. Humidity content varies, and can be > 14%. They should be spread out promptly to less than 6'' thick. Leaving them in a pile could trigger the composting process, potentially decreasing the product's value and developing a fire hazard.

- Up to 8 cu yd can be carried in a Single-Axle Dumper Truck
- Up to 15 cu yd can be carried in a Double-Axle Dumper Truck
- Up to 27 cu yd can be carried in a Dumper Truck + Pup
