Sand-Compost Mix
This economical product can be used as a base for mixing in other ingredients to obtain a balanced blend, or for expanding higher-quality soil if need be.
It can also be used as an underlayer to a higher-quality soil, for instance to pack the bottom of a raised bed.
Not recommended as a stand-alone grow medium other than perhaps for a lawn or flower bed, as it has a fairly poor structure and could be prone to compacting, and has limited nutrient content.
This product contains approximately 25% sand with 75% municipal compost v/v. While compost provides nutrients and beneficial organic matter, sand mitigates the potential salinity of compost and provides a minimum structure.
Available in 1 cu yd and 20 L format.
