Rocks are a large aggregate that have been crushed, reduced, and screened to size; they can be from a softball size to a soccer ball size. Commonly used as an erosion-resistant ground cover or to control erosion in drainage ditches, around ponds, etc.
6-12'' is the most common size used in civil construction.
